ABOUT ROBIN
I feel as though I have been studying health care for a lifetime, gaining my Registered Nurse designation 38 years ago and then becoming a Nurse Practitioner 28 years ago allowing me the independence to personally prescribe medicine for my patients. I am always looking to supplement my understanding of the human body with new perspectives and have found the study of Functional Medicine to be a very fruitful endeavor.
I began my career with a robust interest in learning about and understanding the human body along with common ailments or maladies one might expect to deal with over a wide demographic. My skills were tested in a wide variety of environments including surgery, the ICU when working as an RN as well as in a rural family practice in Albion, Indiana where I learned the value of communication and cooperation with patients to keep them happy and healthy.
I have also gained an understanding of modern diseases like diabetes, thyroid disease, and other endocrine issues as well as high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and the value of homeostasis alongside healthy living. I am very excited to be blending my knowledge of standard western medicine with the more holistic approach taken by Functional Medicine. My primary goal as a health provider is to collaborate with the patient to determine the root causes of illness instead of treating the symptoms of a health problem or disease and the best method of treatment for that patient.
